Women as Victors in the News this Week

Art imitates life...we've heard it a zillion times.  In the news today, the major trending activity was around some incredible women.

What do Maria Shriver,  Jaycee Dugard, Elizabeth Smart, and Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge and Terri and Linda Jamison (the Psychic Twins) have in common today?  They are each strong, intelligent women who have made the choice to live in the now and to show us how to move ahead powerfully and with purpose into whatever the future may hold.

Most powerful quotes and headlines of the day:  In one week, Maria Shriver has "filed for divorce and purchased a $10 mansion for herself and her kids (with her own money), "Jaycee Dugard says she cherishes all the freedoms of her new life," Elizabeth Smart accepted a position as ABC Correspondent focusing on child abduction and missing person cases.  She said she is, "looking at all the different options and trying to decide where I can make the biggest difference, where I can have the biggest effect for good," and on the royal North America tour, "in a touching moment, Duchess Kate Middleton granted the wish of a little girl with cancer to meet a real princess" and the Psychic Twins braved showcasing their passion and gift of clairvoyance on ABC's The View talk show.

What an amazing week of thought-provoking words and actions of some incredibly brave and open-hearted women.  It's encouraging, and empowering to watch others forge forward, as we all want to do, to claim a better life for themselves and those around them.

Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards...

courtesy of www.goodwill.org

My husband of 20 years surprises me more and more these days. As my mental and emotional energy fluctuates lately, in these days of short daylight and cold weather, the drive to do a whole lot more than take life easy is waning...at least for now. In passing, I mentioned to my mother-in-law on Thanksgiving that I love to put our Christmas tree up on the day after turkey day, then to take it down immediately the day after Christmas. Not quite ADD, but a great article on organizing and holiday decorating while coping with ADD is HERE.

My mom always had a tradition of going into the New Year with a clean slate and a clean house. So we always did some deep cleaning and de-cluttering before December 31every year when most people are still dreading the idea of taking down those sad half-twinkling lights on the house. Most of our neighbors often still had little pieces of tinsel and pine needles in their clothes on towards Easter. Anyway, the tradition conditions now that I have my own home. This past Saturday, I came home from work to find the hubby had purchased, set up and decorated a beautiful Douglas Fir, with all the trimmings and created a holiday utopia in my living room with all the old "treasures" he found in my plastic tote in the garage marked "Christmas Decorations."

Ah, the garage. Or as we often lovingly refer to it "..the Land time forgot or Dustie's Treehouse..." with the accent on dusty. Oh sure, every single item in the garage seems to have some sort of "value," if you will. Of course most of that is either sentimental value or fear value. Sentimental as in "oooh, that's one of the baby's burping cloths!" (The aforementioned "baby" is 14!) Or fear value as in "Oh gosh, we simply CAN'T thrown THAT away!! What if we need it?!"

Hoarding can have an energy that begins so simply. Watching that sad show "Hoarders: Buried Alive" reminds me how easy it is, especially during times of extreme trauma, loss and sadness, to move into the energy of anxiety, OCD and depression. Just going into my semi-cluttered garage, as soon as I start to move items out and shift boxes and open containers...a huge flood of energy and emotion swirl around me and fill the space and my aura.

Last week, within five minutes, I found myself crying while searching for a few pieces of paperwork. "What the heck is this about," I asked myself? Fortunately, I have the energy tools to clear my aura of old stuck emotions, foreign energy and I also know how to do some major space clearing (energetically speaking) when needed. So I sat down, "ran energy" (a tool for shifting your consciousness and removing negative energy and bringing in good energy...like a psychic shower). Immediately, the cloud lifted, Archangel Chamuel and his angels helped my put my hand on a small pile of papers to be shredded and the lost papers "magically" popped out on top and into my hand. Whew, thank goodness for prayer, meditation, angels and my energy skills, or I'd really be a basket case!

So this Christmas, I made a commitment to check my garages "treasures" before purchasing anything else. It's amazing what valuable things are out there. We had out boys bring their neighborhood friends over this weekend and donated all of the sports equipment we've collected over the years. Thousands of dollars worth of "stuff" we don't use anymore was gladly carted away by their buddies. The joy and gratitude on their little faces was just priceless. It was bittersweet watching the baseball bats, helmets, tennis rackets, boxing gloves, diving sticks and who knows what else of our memories march away. Luckily, we got the experiences in our hearts and the pictures in our books that will remain.

So I'm busy preparing my yearly donation to the Goodwill, trying to hurry before the holidays come and go. It's so great to experience and remember what a blessing it is to bless others, now and throughout the year. Gratitude and appreciation are contagious and help manifest even greater things for all involved! Happy holiday decluttering!

Psychic Self ♥ Mental Wellness - Pt. 1

This is Mental Health Awareness Week, and today is National Depression Screening Day. Today, Shine publication posted an interesting article called "6 Surprising Signs of Depression." Sadly, many people who are dealing with undiagnosed depression suffer the sadness, hopeless and despair and blame the economy, joblessness, ongoing war and the bleak plight of the world means we should all be sad. Unfortunately, the little joys in life that can be celebrated daily go unappreciated. Gratitude, hope and connectedness are major components of living well, regardless of our outward circumstances.

It is so important that we women cease waiting to be rescued (and completed) and commit to rescuing ourselves. Yesterday, on the Monique Show, Terry McMillan, author of "Getting to Happy" said "...if you are always responding to stimuli, you are always at somebody else's mercy. You must take responsibility for your own well being, your own happiness and your own joy."

When I got married and became pregnant with my first child, I decided I would do my best, from that point forward, to really LIVE and be in-joy, regardless of what else is going on around me. In my thirties, I began healing a very deep case of clinical depression. Upon working with several healers, it was discovered that I was carrying around about a dozen spirit attachments. As an empath, I had collected, gathered and been attacked by disembodied spirits, thought forms, projected anger and had many of my own soul fragments missing due to trauma in my early childhood. During the healing process, my soul parts were returned to me, I became whole via meditation, Reiki, soul retrieval and shamanic healing. Only as I became whole again, did I notice those random "crazy" thoughts and actions that made me feel so sad, isolated and bad about myself---were never me at all.

Licensed therapist in Los Angeles Dr. Goldberg wrote a great article called "Just Say No to Entities,"
Over a decade ago, I "accidentally found" his book, "Protected by the Light" which gives a great illustration of how depression and other mental illnesses can be caused or exacerbated by entity attachments.

Dr. William Baldwin, author of "Healing Lost Souls,"
also speaks from experience when he shares how Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly called Multiple Personality Disorder) is a common phenomenon for people with aggressive entities attached to them. His wife and healing partner, Judith Baldwin speaks eloquently on how important it is to maintain a strong ""spiritual immune system" to prevent attachments in the first place. Being mindful of my thoughts, meditating and self-healing regularly have become second nature for me, like washing my hands and taking vitamin c to keep from getting a cold in the Winter. Even the National Institute of Health are beginning to recommend meditation as a supplement to mental wellness care in adjunct to traditional medicine. Today, please take a few minutes to ask yourself to take one of the many online depression mini-tests to see if you might benefit from additional assistance through these tough times.
