Happy Groundhog Day 2011!

Happy Groundhog Day 2011!

Regardless of whether or not Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, clearly, Mother Nature has some serious winter plans in store for us...for quite awhile yet.  Each day, I can feel my energy level ebb and flow; it alternates with the extended sunshine and daylight and the cold, windy, cloudy days.
Crippling blizzards across the North and Southeast, blustery winds here in the West and torrential rains in the Northwest overshadow the promise of Springtime for now.  Today, I'm grateful for my new dog and his soft, Sherpa-like doggie bed I bought at Big Lots for a STEAL, my son's new public charter school and his amazing attitude turnaround after leaving our very-much celebrated (and hugely overpopulated) local high school, homemade cornbread in the oven and my famous chicken stew simmering on the stove for dinner.

Life is simple, blessed and good today.  It is surely my pleasure to pop some wood into the fireplace, wrap up in my Snuggie blankie on the couch, watch Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, and hunker down for at LEAST six more weeks of winter fun before Spring and the Vernal Equinox appears.  As one momma bear who's not quite ready to end hibernation, I happily say back down the rabbit hole I go!

New Decade's Eve 2010

Today, we get to celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a new decade, and some might even say, a new era.

A decade ago, the world was poised, waiting for Y2K...praying that Armageddon was not upon us; and at the least hoping our nest egg would not disappear from the local savings and loan when the calendar rolled back to "00."

Like a snake shedding it's old, dry and tattered skins...we shed what is no longer needed for our Highest and Best Good, as our soul and planet are ascending into the next dimension of Light.

It will benefit us all to take stock (and not just close our eyes) to the events and growth that have occurred over the last 10 years. And as we bless each experience and save the knowledge but discard the emotion, pain and disappointment...we must move forward in faith that God has something really spectacular in store for us...somehow...somewhere. Claiming it as so, in the here and now...is the greatest blessing we can give ourselves right now.

Please be joyful, kind and loving to yourself and those around you. We are all "fighting the good fight." Most of us are war-torn, weary and downright exhausted. Fear not, as a new day dawns tomorrow. God bless, and farewell 2010...

Secret Life of Bee Sting Therapy

The flowers are budding and the tree blossoms are blooming. Of course, this fresh Springtime brings hummingbirds and bees.

Bees have been ever-present in my awareness over the last month. Several personal stories have "randomly" been told to me regarding bee infestation, bee stings, bee sightings, bee removal...it goes on. In shamanic terms, bees signify taking focused action and bringing sweetness into our lives.

So I've focusing on the small, sweet moments and setting intention to increase that aspect of my life (quickly). My most recent post on The Spirited Woman discusses the renewed interest in alipathy, or bee venom therapy. Article is HERE.

It's always been fascinating to me, but the jury's still out on being intentionally stung by bees. Funny, when writing the piece, I remember sitting in SAT's, with the nuns vigilantly watching over us, being stung in the neck by a bee. I stayed silent and completed the SAT's, but it was so surreal, to this day, I remember how stunned, literally, I was. Still did great on the test, but bee's definitely get my attention now.

Enjoy the article and please comment when you get a chance. ~MiChelle
