Supermoon 2011

Tomorrow night, the Earth's perpetual satellite, the moon, will be the closest it's been in 18 years.

Supposedly, this so-called "Supermoon" will be a sight to behold.  As usual, the regular doomsday prophets are predicting destruction and catastrophe.  Our world is seemingly in an upheaval...war, earthquakes, tsunami's, civil rebellions, union dismemberment, radioactive fallout....it's all much to much to comprehend.

Many point to the coming "End of times," the Book of Revelation, the coming of 2012 and possible Armageddon.  Personally, I'm continuing to keep my eyes on God and His ability (and desire) to respond to our heartfelt prayers and requests.

Astrologically, the full moon energy is harvested to assist with the completion of old issues and projects, in order to usher in the new.  That's what I'll be meditating on this Super-full-moon.  Breath deep, stay grounded and don't allow yourselves to be dragged down in the heavy, dark blanket of fear attempting to smother out the indomitable human spirit of faith and creation.  Bless you all along the way.

Time to Radiate...Divine Healing Light

Lots of scary news, worry and near-panic today about radiation fears in California and the west coast of the United States.  Nuclear power, its pros and cons, should be in the forefront of our minds during this time that pleas for our Mother Earth are begging to get our attention.

I'm no rocket scientist, clearly. I'm just a mom, and a nature freak, who is uber-concerned about the world and future my children and grandchildren will be left with after the smoke settles from environmental abuse over the years.  The time for faith, prayer and asking for Divine Assistance for all our world family is imperative right now.
When meditating this week, connecting with Jesus, my Higher Self and angelic guides, no answers come...but peace and quiet serenity are always available in bulk.  As a mere mortal, I'm usually standing there with a thimble, but hey, I'll take it in a little at a time if I must.  It's also pertinent to have more serious conversations about our world leaders' relentless thirst for petroleum's products, as gas prices climb, and our atmosphere clogs with more and more pollution.

This is a great time to RADIATE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, AND UNIVERSAL RAINBOW LIGHT AND GOD'S HEALING WHITE LIGHT all over Japan and the World.  See the nuclear plant at Fukushima, the earthquake victims at Healing, blessing and a major turnaround will benefit us all, for generations to come.

Simple Pleasures

My favorite recurring quote this week is "Be appreciative for what is. And be eager for what is coming." So simply said, and yet so profound. For the last several days, I've been spending a few minutes each day listening this and other high-vibrational input from Abraham-Hicks' new CD "Getting into the Vortex" guided meditations via my awesome speaker pillow.

Pushing forward with goals and aspirations is great. However, our strongest point of power is in the now. Celebrating the present moment, with some measure of gratitude and joy, is the most Divine thing you can do for yourself. I'm savoring simple pleasures today, and everyday.

We are safe, well-fed, well-housed, well-clothed, (mostly) gainfully employed and in good health and good spirits. It's only Tuesday, but I feel like I have labored at LEAST 7 days straight!  Yesterday's Valentine's Day was quiet and predictable...just what I needed.  I made my hubby's favorite (and simplest) meal and cupcakes.  We watched some TV as a family, then off to bed.  Did I mention we wake up at 4am daily for work?  Indeed, my favorite time was "lights out."  In that simplicity, I've found bliss.

Happy Groundhog Day 2011!

Happy Groundhog Day 2011!

Regardless of whether or not Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, clearly, Mother Nature has some serious winter plans in store for us...for quite awhile yet.  Each day, I can feel my energy level ebb and flow; it alternates with the extended sunshine and daylight and the cold, windy, cloudy days.
Crippling blizzards across the North and Southeast, blustery winds here in the West and torrential rains in the Northwest overshadow the promise of Springtime for now.  Today, I'm grateful for my new dog and his soft, Sherpa-like doggie bed I bought at Big Lots for a STEAL, my son's new public charter school and his amazing attitude turnaround after leaving our very-much celebrated (and hugely overpopulated) local high school, homemade cornbread in the oven and my famous chicken stew simmering on the stove for dinner.

Life is simple, blessed and good today.  It is surely my pleasure to pop some wood into the fireplace, wrap up in my Snuggie blankie on the couch, watch Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, and hunker down for at LEAST six more weeks of winter fun before Spring and the Vernal Equinox appears.  As one momma bear who's not quite ready to end hibernation, I happily say back down the rabbit hole I go!

Healing with a Cleansing Fast

Like many people this time of year, I've begun my prayerful fast and cleanse.  The goal is to not only rid my body of toxins and old "junk," but also the mind and spirit.  As I get deeper in, all I can say is....oh boy, there is  a LOT of junk to release.

My body is feeling strong and loved.  It seems to say to me everyday, that it believes me when I say "I am NOW ready to release all that no longer serves my Highest Divine Good."  In his book "Lose Weight, Have More Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days," Peter Glickman says, "...the Master Cleanse, according to its developer, Stanley Burroughs, not only cleanses the colon, but also the liver, kidneys and other organs."  Oh, nuff said.  Man, some stuff you can't unsee...I'll just leave it at that!

Prayer and meditation are an integral part of a fast, in my humble opinion.  As my thoughts become more lucid and focused, my Holy Spirit is able to communicate with me without the background noise getting in the way.  There is no hunger, only periodic random (sometimes weird) cravings.  My sinuses are clear for the first time in months and my belly is not bloated.  My mind can hear its own thoughts and my emotions are calm.

I can feel my High Guidance getting stronger too.  It's like when you are on a road trip and the radio is fuzzy and making static sounds for several miles.  It is such a joyful moment to finally find a strong, clear signal.  It makes you sit up in your seat and really listen to the music and the words playing on the station you find.  I'm excited to see what will develop over the next few days!

New Electric Ford Focus Revealed

First, the Nissan Leaf.  Then, the Chevy Volt.  Now, Ford has unveiled it's first dedicated electric car.  Since its debut in 1998, the Ford Focus has consistently been one of the most-purchased new cars in the world.

The treehugger in me is cautiously excited.  As a Honda, Toyota and Ford owner (all stick shifts), it makes me happy to think that ecology and commerce are finally trying to work to keep their marriage together.

Apparently, unlike its competitors, Ford debuted it's new electric car at the widely attended Annual Consumer's Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.  This move alone speaks not only to the commitment and forward thinking of Ford, but also to the new car buyers of this millennium.  As responsible Earth stewards, it's extremely important that we utilize our personal power (including money) in ways that supports the type of world we wish to create, for the Highest Good.

Besides the fact that the car will reportedly get 100 miles to one charge; multimedia technology created specifically by the company like music sync, traveling wi fi, inflatable seat belts, "my key" teenager driver monitoring system, and more...poise the new Ford on the edge of Jetson-age living in this decade.
Less pollution and one step closer to releasing our dependance on fossil fuels are two great reasons to get excited about new cars like these.

As the "we are the world" metaphysical mom that I am, most of all, it makes me happy that my children and their children might actually have a chance to live on a beautifully inhabitable planet in the future.  In meditation, it's so helpful to visualize the kind of world we wish to leave behind.  The vision is beginning to solidify for sure.  Thumbs up Ford Motor Company!
