Zombie Apocalypse
"Are you prepared? No really mom....are you? "
That is what my kids, and their friends...all fans of the movie "Zombieland" keep asking me. They want to be assured that, in the event of an actual zombie apocalypse, we will have enough cheese crackers, juice boxes and fruit snacks. You bet we will. I took rule #1 to heart too, CARDIO...because apparently zombies don't train as much as they should. So I've been working out and preparing to run my first 10k this summer.
The CDC warned us this week to stay diligent and aware...disaster is just around the corner and we need to have a plan. Funny thing is, I started noticing zombies about 20 years ago walk among us...you know, the "living dead" as I affectionately call them. They have a signature look of distance in their eyes, and the disposition to match. They have a plastic indifferent smile pasted on their face. They get up everyday, and go through the same repetitive motions, without any conscious thought as to why they do it, or how those same rote motions seem to have them in holding pattern of disconnection and lack of consciousness or passion in life.
All jokes aside, the need to be conscious, engaged in life and our personal growth is more important now than it has ever been. Prayer, meditation, self care, breaking out of our ruts...all are vital to our success and survival as a people and a planet. Are you prepared? No really....are you? I'm getting there...
